It has been said time and time again that more than 90% of those who start home-based businesses will fail. That number can be startling to those of us who have high hopes for our new home business. It is so exciting to break free of the constraints of a forty-hour a week job, get rid of your boss and start something new. None of us start these businesses with the idea that we will fail, so where does everything go wrong? Well, my guess is that there is not one defining moment where your business crashes. The decent of any business usually happens in small moments that eventually add up to one large failure. When starting your own business, it is so important to know that you can avoid all of these moments by having a plan of action, believing in your business, having faith and confidence in yourself and giving all that you can to ensure success.
It is truly amazing what anyone can really do when they really put their mind to it. People have been saying that forever and it still is so true. It seems when someone hears that they could make money working from home, they assume that they will be putting in less hours and doing less work than they do in their 40-hour a week job. This is a big misconception — especially in the early stages of building your internet business. There are so many internet marketing home based business online that will assure you that you will be a millionaire while only working 10 hours each week. One of the main things that will get you so far in the home business industry is learning to be realistic. Yes, it’s possible that after months of consistent effort and prospecting, your business may get to the point where you only need to work 10 hours a week — but don’t plan to let up on the gas too early. Be realistic and know that having your own business will take a lot of work, but if you really set your mind to it and put in the hours, you can reap the rewards.
I believe that another reason for the 90% failure of internet home based businesses is that people get discouraged too easily. They start a business and success does not come soon enough, so they give up. In order to be profitable, every business owner has to endure some form of rejection. Not everyone is going to like your product, in fact most of them won’t, but you must concentrate on the sales that you do make and move forward. Always have confidence in yourself and your business — continue as you build your business, to build and develop yourself along the way. As you become more confident and have more clarity in your business and your life, you will attract more sales with less effort.
